How it works

  1. Monthly payments Every debt gets its monthly payment.
  2. Extra money The extra amount goes to one debt. Avalanche picks the highest interest rate. Snowball picks the smallest balance.
  3. Paid-off debts When a debt is paid off, its payment moves to the next debt from the following month.
  4. Interest Charged monthly at the annual rate divided by 12. Fees and new borrowing are not included.

Changing the currency does not convert the amounts.

Questions

All questions
Should I pay extra on the highest APR card?

Paying extra on the card with the highest APR first is the avalanche method. It usually costs the least interest. Enter your cards above to see the difference for your balances.

What happens when one debt is paid off?

Its monthly payment moves to the next debt in the order, starting the following month. Your total monthly payment stays the same until every debt is paid off.

Does the calculator send my debts to a server?

Calculations run in your browser. Calculator inputs are not sent to analytics. The QR code on a printed plan and older shared-plan links contain the plan’s numbers and debt names in the URL. Anyone with that link can read them.

Are payoff dates guaranteed?

No. Estimates assume fixed annual rates, monthly interest and payments made as planned. Fees, daily interest, changing rates and lender-specific rules are not included.

Can I import a web plan into the app?

Not currently. The App Store and Google Play links open the app listing. They do not transfer your balances or schedule. Enter your debts in the app to track them.
